Did you think that was a saying? Yes, it was, as I’ve just invented it. As you probably know by now, this is a blog about snoring: I do snore a lot, I do drive everybody crazy, and for the picture to be complete, find out that I’m a bit deaf, too.

If you had no idea by now, find our from me that there is a direct relationship between snoring and smoking. Smoking makes you snore, but also snoring makes you smoke. And I don’t know if there are any real cures for snoring.

How Snoring Makes You Smoke

Imagine that your wife wakes you up several times a night because you are snoring too loud for her delicate ears and for her easy sleep. At a point, you think that you’d better take a break from sleeping, you go to the kitchen and you make yourself a nice sandwich. You eat it and then you feel like smoking. So you smoke. Then you think to go to bed, and your wife’s face comes into your mind, so you think to let her sleep some more, and you smoke another cigarette, and another one, until you notice you’ve just finished the whole pack.

Leaving jokes behind, this story has a serious reason why I’m telling it to you: when you smoke, the cells in your esophagus react. Esophagus is the tube you have in your throat, which serves to lead the food in the stomach and the smoke in the lungs. The reaction of the esophagus determines an increase on the natural mucus secretion, and guess what? Your air paths are obstructed out of the blue.

He who cannot breathe normally snores. That’s a certitude. So just quit smoking to quit snoring. Or the other way around.

Cures for snoring are rather cures for sufferers, as each patient has his particularities, which make him unique. Not all cures have effect on all people who snore. So there is no proven way to cure everybody, therefore any remedy and any procedure is worth trying, until you find what’s best for you, and what actually works in your case.

Surgical Cures For Snoring

Did you know that there is snoring surgery? This procedure consists of cutting some part of the airways tissue, to open the air passages more, thus preventing their vibration in the relaxed state during sleep. I don’t know anybody who had such surgery done, but I suppose it is not exactly what we call a pleasure. I think I’d save it as a last solution, after trying all others.

Popular Cures For Snoring

Nasal strips and chin straps are amongst the most popular snoring cures out there. Some people reported them to be working, but I imagine how funny it is to get to sleep with a strap attached to your chin. Don’t attempt to kiss your wife while wearing one of those.

Stop snoring sprays are also efficient for some heavy sufferers. You just apply a few puff in your throat before going to bed, and that’s all, your family will have a good, quiet night rest.

Dental and other oral appliances are also available, in case the anti-snoring spray fails to show results.

Whatever you decide to try, you need to be aware that this is rather a trial and error process rather than a scientific method. So, don’t lose your hope after the first attempts if you don’t get to know how to stop snoring: relief may come with the next cure you’ll try.

How to stop snoring can become a major concern when your whole family is telling you that they can hear you snoring even when they come on the alleyway. I’ve been told that I snore so loud that even my neighbors know when I’m asleep. I’m sorry for them, but I suppose they should go to bed earlier than me and make sure they fall asleep quickly if they don’t want to stay awake the whole night.

How To Sleep When You Know You Can’t Stop Snoring?

I’m embarrassed, but I need the sleep, so although I cannot stop snoring, I still have to go to bed at night, do the desperation of people around me. But believe me, I try to go to sleep as late as possible, to give them some time to get asleep before I start snoring. The scientific explanation behind this is that the airways suffer from a partial collage due to alcohol ingestion, thus causing snoring ans sleep apnea.

I need a solution, but no doctor was able to give me so far. I’m ashamed each time I meet John, who lives in the apartment below ours. I feel like running away each time I encounter Mary, who lives next door. My kids make fun of me with every occasion. And all this hassle just because I don’t know how to stop snoring!

Advice On How To Stop Snoring

I’ve read in some magazines that quitting smoking would help. Too bad I don’t smoke. Also avoiding alcohol seems to help. This one I’ve noticed myself. My wife always tells me that the worst snoring of all occurs after I drink a lot in the evening.

Renia was running for weeks, with the real estate agent, to look for an apartment in Bucharest, for her to buy.
Exhausted, she chooses, in the end, one in a poor condition. Immediately she called her architect friend to ask for his help. Poky accepted on the spot. He was willing to start the next day.
The owner told to Renia that, for the moment, his nephew and his wife are living there. He promised her that, by the time the documents will be ready, the apartment would be free.
Three days later, the documents were signed. The owner gave her the keys.
Together with Poky, Renia went to her new home. When they entered their, surprise: all the staff the nephew and his wife had was still there. But not like you would imagine; no, nothing was packed and ready to go. It was obviously; the couple lived there like nothing happened.

Renia called the former owner to ask him about the agreement they had. Nobody answer the phone. She tried many times, with the same result.
Poky started the apartment’s evaluation, the measurements. He decided what should be bought in order to start fix it. Than, they made a list with all the thinks needed to decorate the new space, so it becomes a home. One, in which, Renia and her family, will fill comfortable.
Before leaving the apartment, Renia wrote a note for the ex-owner’s nephew, asking him to, please, packs his thinks and leave.
The next day, before going at the office, my friend, passed to her new apartment. Nothing changed there. You can add to the last day picture some rests of food on the table.
Renia phoned to the former owner. Again, nobody answer. Upset, she wrote to the couple that unless they leave, she would call the police.
In the afternoon, Poky went there with two workers, caring the cement, the leather and the tools. When he entered, the young couple was eating. They got upset because of the interruption. And not only that. They started a fight with the architect, asking him “what is the big hurry fixing the place”? Poky replied that they should be gone by now.

The men said:

“We have nowhere to go. We want to stay here and pay the new owner a small rent. Our salaries are small.”

Poky got angry:

“Small, big, we don’t want the rent. My friend wants the apartment fixed so she can move in with her family. That is the reason she bought it”.

The woman:

“But they already have a place to stay in. We don’t. Plus, we don’t have enough money to rent one in this area. What kind of people are you, to throw us on the street”?

“Lady, that is not our problem. Please, take your staff and leave”.

“Where to? We are staying here”.

The workers and the architect left the apartment.
The story lasted for two weeks. Lots of fights between them.
One day, Renia, fed up, went to her apartment with a police officer. Was the only way to solve the problem.

That is a common situation in a poor country. Many times the former owner refuses to leave the apartment.
