Can One Get Auto Insurance After DUI?
We all make mistakes in life, but some of us pay more than others. When driving drunk, if you get a DUI conviction you may find out you have troubles in finding an insurance company willing to accept you. That’s because once you’ve got a DUI, you are labeled as a High risk driver. This means that there’s an increased probability for you to file a claim, which may translate in losses for that insurance company. One of my friends in in this situation and he wonders if he’ll be able to get car insurance again once he gets his driver’s license back. He found some free car insurance quotes online but he’s still not sure if he’ll get accepted by any of those companies.
I’ll keep you posted on this story. As far as I know, insurance carriers don’t check back in time more than 5 years, so that’s maximum you need to wait anyway.
